You may have heard Senor Flavio. He was the bassist and songwriter for the Argentine rock band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, whose song “Matador” was featured in the movie Gross Point Blank. I don’t know what I expected when I first listened to this Argentine disc, but it certainly wasn’t the ska-influenced pop-rock it delivers. This is a fun album with lots of organ and rockabilly guitar. Except for track #4, which has one line in English (for which it should be a no-play); the lyrics are in Spanish. Don’t let this keep you from checking it out. Highlights are tracks #2, #5, and #7. These are all upbeat tunes that just might find you doing a little dance. Track #9, entitled “Caumont” is somewhat mellow, but an outstanding track, nonetheless. Track #13 is another highlight as an instrumental. .- Rebecca Behrens, WYCE Music Review CommitteeMATISYAHU
