The Reptile Palace Orchestra

We Know You Know

2003-10-15

This band is a LOT of EVERYTHING: 1. The instruments:  Horns, woodwinds, whistles, various drums and percussive toys, stringed instruments of the widest and strangest varieties..all these things are the tools used to build The Reptile Palace Orchestra sound.  If it's something that makes a cool noise, it's probably in the mix 2. The band members: Some of them are in so many additional musical projects that I can't begin to name them all, then there's a zoology illustrator, a dancer, a luthier as well as an instrument inventor (of course this band uses his invented/modified instruments). 3. The music: Balkan, Middle-Eastern, Swing, Assyrian, Arabic, Klezmer, metal-influenced rock, blues, looped sounds, crazy effects, recycling out takes from other tunes, plus an array of guest musicians. There are traditional songs and original. ("original" being an understatement). All of these things together make a tight energetic eclectic all-world sound. It's one wild ride.
