It's easy to say "Natalie Merchant of 10,000 Maniacs..." and forget that she had a whole American upbringing prior to that endeavour.   On this collection of traditional & contemporary American folk music, Natalie shows off her intellectual muscle and historical interests by trolling documentaries, hymnals and folk anthologies for timeless selections to interpret. The disc appears on her new indie label, Myth America.
