On Carrie's third solo release "Love And Circumstance" she has chosen to a cover song release from some of the worlds greatest American roots musicians. These are beautifully polished tracks where Carrie brings her beautiful voice and soul and makes them her own. The CD begins with a terrific interpolation of the Little Village classic" Big Love" penned by Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Jim Keltner and Nick Lowe. This track along with Julie Millers "Wide River To Cross" and the Gillian Welch and David Rawlings track "I made A Lovers Prayer" are the most upbeat and spirited covers on the release. Along with paying tribute to some of her modern day heroes such as Lucinda Williams on "Steal Your Love", Carrie ventures into the classics with Merle Haggard's "I Started Loving You Again" as well as Hank Williams "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". This is Carries most roots driven solo release and shows an artist that is confident in her abilities to make her listeners as well as some of the worlds greatest song writers proud.
