Dave Potter

You Already Know

2017-09-14

I have to say Dave Potter is one of the better Jazz drummers i have listened to in quite some time. He is almost like a Keith Moon when he takes over the song on a few occasions. He has several degrees in Music and actually turned down a full scholarship to the Julliard Jazz Program in New York City. Marcus Roberts has been his mentor for quite some time, and combined with the musical journey he has been on for the last 17 years you get his new album You Already Know. I loved the drumming and the xylophone vibes they throw around on several tracks. Pretty good. Tracks 1, 3, 7, and 9 were my favorite on the record.
