Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles

Diamonds In The Dark

2007-05-21

Think Nelly Furtado mixed with less beats, a lot more rock, and straight singing (no Timbaland). This is what Sarah Borges is. This is a great release from Borges and her band The Broken Singles. Radio-friendly folk-rock that would be played well with the likes of Mazzy Star, Sheryl Crow, and any of the other mid 90’s female rockers. Borges has tons of heart in her lyrics and her sound varies from country-blues-folk-rock. Check out tracks 1 “The Day We Met”, track 5 “Lonely Town Of Love”, track 8 “Belle Of The Bar”, and track 11 “Diablito”.
