Previously having worked with more than twenty bands, including his own Rolldown, Jason Adasiewicz finally feels he has a recognizable name in jazz circles, and he is putting his name first as the leader of this trio, Sun Rooms. Incorporating the four-mallet style, the Chicago vibraphonist carries the melody even though the melody is not always at the forefront. Indeed, the melody often accedes the lead to the percussion to make this a well-rounded trio with each instrument being of equal importance. While not as accessible as Rolldown, Sun Rooms offers intriguing creativity. Rebecca RuthVarious Blue Note Artists
