Clarinetist Dr. Michael White is a professor of Spanish and Afro-American music at Xavier University, a former musical director at Lincoln Center and a mainstay on the New Orleans jazz scene. Beyond these achievements he’s also continued a 20 year recording career, including work with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and as a solo artist on now his 6th album.On the new disc, he’s joined by a number of prominent figures from the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, including trumpeter and Warner Brothers recording artist Nicholas Payton.
