Bass player John Clayton studied his craft under the influence of one of the greatest the late Ray Brown at UCLA at a mere 16 years old. Since ray has played bass with the likes of Paul McCartney {Who thought he would need a bass player}, Yo-Yo Ma, the Count Basie Orchestra and as part of the Mony Alexander Trio. Ray has also headlined the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra as well as the Clayton Brothers Quintet. On this disc he is joined by his son pianist Gerald Clayton on what they call the Parlor Series. When listening to this disc picture yourself in a quiet parlor with a glass of wine as these two very accomplished musicians improvise through jazz originals and classics. You will even catch an unusual take on the Billy Joel's pop track "And So It Goes". This is a perfect CD for that quiet evening as you unwind and relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.
