PERSEPHONE'S BEES

Notes From The Underworld

2006-10-30

Led by the Russian singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Angelina Moysov, Persephone’s Bees full-length debut album is a foresight of the potential that will come from this talented quartet. Somehow they managed to combine The Brazilian Girls and Cake into one band, and make it sound good…very good. Their poppy beats, catchy vocals, and sickly fun rhythms will make you bounce. It’s a fun listen. Some winners are 1 “Way To Your Heart,” 2 “Climbing,” 4 “Nice Day,” the Russian-titled 5 “Muzika Dlya Fil’ma,” and 9 “Paper Plane.” -Jake Burritt
