This is the debut album by Vancouver native and drummer, Morgan Childs. Recorded live, at a club in his home town, this album recalls the bebop quintets of the fifties and sixties. From the opener, which features a nice bass solo from Sean Cronin, to "Re-Entry", which is an upbeat tune with fine horn-blowing by saxophonist, Evan Arntzen, this is some damn good jazz! Check out my favorite, "Powell's Prances" and be amazed at how tight this band can be when performing live. I can only hope that they will be touring in our area soon!
