Lyal Strickland

Balanced on Barbed Wire

2015-05-15

Easy-listening, folky, and passionate, Lyal Strickland tells the tale of a simple farmer faced with the difficulties of heavy rain followed by drought in an unforgiving crop season. The story shapes itself steadily through 13 tracks of various mediums: Strickland fingerpicks the flat top, and an impressive selection of folk and country instruments follow along, including mandolin, banjo, harmonica, accordion, violin and dobro. Strickland’s folky, breathy voice sings down-to-earth lyrics in the feel-good Balanced On Barbed Wire.
