Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague

2005-06-14

So, two producers, Marc Collins and Oliver Libaus, realized that no one had ever recorded Bossa Nova versions of the songs of Joy Division, The Dead Kennedys, Killing Joke, Sisters of Mercy, The Clash or any number of Post-Punk and New Wave artists.

See, "Nouvelle Vague" actually means "New Wave" in French and "Bossa Nova" in Portuguese. Crazy. So they managed to talk a group of young French female singers who had never actually heard the original versions songs into laying down vocals for them.

I guess we’ll try anything once.
