The New York Room brings us the latest local release in the mix.

Their 3rd CD release, Courtesan, uncorks a mix of gothic, electronica and trip-hop sounds blended with classical and jazz influences.

Spearheaded by self-taught musician Matthew Ervin, The New York Room serves as the moniker for what is, essentially, a collaboration between a variety of musicians, including Blue Dahlia members Leslie Boughton and Derek Menchinger.

Haunting vocals wrap around atmospheric music to present a sound that is at once original and accessible.
