JASON ISBELL & THE 400 UNIT 29 year old and former member of the Drive by Truckers has given us 11 tracks of solid rocking Americana music that will keep him rolling well into 2009. This CD combines the Southern rock sounds of the Truckers with a more soulful at times R&B sound. The CD begins with Seven-Mile Island and is a eulogy for Topper Price a harmonica player from the area. “Good” is a terrific rock track that will electrify the audience. “No Choice in the Matter” shows the more soulful side of Jason and features a full horn section. In the track “Soldiers get Strange” Jason tries to get into the minds of our service men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a solid record from beginning to end and should give this man from Muscle Shoals Alabama the rewards he deserves. Reviewed By: Gregg SaurStew
