New Guitar Summit

2004-10-23

Long-time friends and first-time recording partners Jay Geils, Duke Robillard and Gerry Beaudoin bring us the “New Guitar Summit”, a swinging mix of jazz and blues numbers, new on Stony Plain Records.

The trio first took to the stage in 1997 and has been tossing around the idea of recording since. The disc is inspired by their fondness for the warm tones of latter-day guitar giants Charlie Christian, Django Reinhart and Kenny Burrell.
