Shukar Collective share a fresh extension of folkloric tradition - this coming from the mountains of Romania.Their sound is based on ursari music - the music of Romanian bear handlers. Traditionally, the men would sing and play percussive instruments like barrels and spoons while the bear would be made to dance.
Shukar Collective has combined three famed ursari vocalists with six of Romania’s finest producers. Each producer brings his own contemporary electronic flavor to the mix - minus the dancing bears.
