Is there a better name for a folk band? The Mountain Goats give life to an honest album that has great vocals and some brilliant instrumentation. There is so much truth and honesty behind lead singer John Darnielle’s lyrics, that they make the album worth the listen alone. The instrumentation keeps the audience coming back for more. Standout tracks include track 2 “New Monster Avenue”, track 4 “Get Lonely”, track 9 “Woke Up New”, and track 10 “If You See Light”. Overall, this is an easy listening album that many will enjoy and put on repeat for a while. Lane ZoerhofSHANIMAL
