Los Lobos

The Ride

2004-05-27

It's been 30 years since the existing incarnation of Los Lobos strapped on their instruments and took to the stage. Still together and producing, The Wolves return with their friends to break new ground and re-examine some catalog material.

Names, names, names... Richard Thompson, Garth Hudson, Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, Bobby Womack, Latin garage-funk hero Little Willie G., Mavis Staples, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Dave Alvin, ubiquitous lap-steel master Greg Leisz, sometime-producer Mitchell Froom, Martha Gonzales and Latin music statesman Rubén Blades all contribute.
