BETH ORTON

Comfort of Strangers

2006-02-07

Ahh, the wait is over. Beth Orton has done it “au natural.” Beth stripped, just her and a few others on each tune. Warm and enveloping. Every time I listened, I heard something different. This release is not Central Reservation, her high water mark for some. But this work shows herself—assuredness. Nice laid back tunes here folks. Great for any time of the day.

Only regret is that the songs are short for my liking. Quality over quantity I say. A WYCE “fave” in the making.
