These are the last known recordings of the late Johnny Cash, recorded in 2002 and 2003, before he passed September 12, 2003 at the age of 71. His album was produced posthumously by Rick Rubin, and has an eerie and emotional feel to it. It is tough to think of this in the light of any other of the man’s albums, as this is sorrowful, repentant, reminiscent, as Cash seems to be of the knowledge that he is near the end of his life. “Like the 309” is the last song ever recorded by Cash, and the last words of the album sound like he’s speaking from beyond the grave--you kind of just want to sit there in silence after its played. -PeteGrant Peeples And The Peeples Republik
