Reza

Ray of the Wine

2005-03-01

Persian, Moroccan, African, Indian and Western music collide on the new release from Reza Derakshani (or simply Reza).

The Iranian vocalist’s first appearance on WYCE was produced and arranged by The Doors’ drummer John Densmore. Densmore adds percussion to the record while Reza demonstrates his mastery of many traditional Persian instruments such as the stringed Sitar; the bowed Tarmanche; a bamboo flute known as the Ney; and the Hand Drum.

The disc is available now from the New York City-based Hen House Studios.
