Son Volt

Okemah and the Melody of Riot

2005-07-24

It’s been seven years since the last release from these Americana rockers with a literate streak. Shortly after the release of Wide Swing Tremelo, the band announced a hiatus, never officially claiming that they had broken up. Since that time, Son Volt frontman Jay Farrar has kept his legion of fans happy with three solo discs which have more or less sounded a lot like…Son Volt. Farrar still acts as the main songwriter for this record but this time out he’s surrounded himself with a brand new group of musicians.
