Eddi Reader

Sings the Songs of Robert Burns

2004-01-22

Just in time for the pervasive 18th Century Scottish scribe’s birthday (January 25th), Glaswegian Eddi Reader offers this paean to his finest works, including “Auld Lang Syne” and “My Love is Like a Red Red Rose” (sorry, no “Address to a Haggis” to be found).

While Reader made her name as a contemporary artist, here she applies her lovely Scottish lilt to Burns’ poems with traditional reverence.

Produced in collaboration with Boo Hewerdine.
