THE DUHKS

Your Daughters and Your Sons

2006-02-15

This is a re-release of the Duhks pronounced {Ducks} first release, originally only available in Canada. Recorded in 2002 after these 4 extremely talented young musicians had been together for a mere four months. This band intertwines Celtic, folk, rock & Appalachian sounds that will keep your toes tapping through the entire disc. Extremely impressive is the fiddle playing of Tania Elizabeth at the time of this recording only 18 years old and some terrific Banjo playing from Jordan McConnell. This disc does an excellent Job of Mixing Jigs & Reels with more traditional folk sounds such as the great cover of Gillian Welch’s “Rock of Ages”. After listening to this Disc I am convinced this band may be one of Canada’s best imports to the USA. - Gregg Saur
