English brothers Peter (The Futureheads) and David Brewis create prog-pop on their fourth Field Music release, Plumb. This is British indie rock; but the vocal harmonies, strings, horns, and fine production give it a pastoral feel. I’ve heard the band compared to XTC. I really only see the comparison on the last track, “A New Thing”. (Not only does it sound like XTC, but the vocals sound just like Andy Partridge!) Rebecca Ruth
