DAVIS COEN

Ill Disposition

2007-08-30

This is roots-rocky style blues from Mr. Cohen, with some very nice acoustic stuff tossed in. All of your favorite blues themes and cues are here: trains, two-timers, roosters, harmonicas, guitar riffs, acoustic stuff, etc, etc, etc. He’s not breaking any new ground with his fourth release, but on a positive note, the instrumentation is fine and the vocals are very good. My favorites were “Freight Train” and “Lay Me a Pallet on Your Floor”. Yes, yes, they are both acoustic, but then that would be me! Kindly Old Mr. Tilapia
