Manuel Valera Trio

The Seasons

2017-03-10

I thought it was pretty cool to hear a Jazz album with some compositions to help describe through Music what you might feel if you were in those particular seasons. Pretty cool in my mind, i am sure this is not the first time this has been done, but it was the first time for me to review something like this. Additionally Manuel is actually from Havana, which helps to explain some of the Cuban sounds on a few tracks, but don't get lost in the fact that it is a great Jazz album from the Grammy Nominated Artist, and posses some straight ahead Jazz and occasional Jazz Standards as well. Very enjoyable, and i really liked tracks 6, 7, 8, and 9 the most on it.
