SHUFFLE DEMONS

ClusterFunk

2012-08-13

Canadian band, Shuffle Demons, has been around for over twenty-five years. The band consists of bass, drums and three (count 'em...three) sax players. Ninth release, ClusterFunk, is funky, blues-based jazz, offering seven vocal and five instrumental songs. The instrumentals here are pretty much straight-up jazz, while the vocal pieces all lie more in the blues arena. Highlights include "Strollin'" with drummer Stich Wynston playing the rims and "Way After Midnight". "Way After Midnight" shows how tight these guys can be when they play some serious bebop.
