April 4 marks the passing of Amadou Bagayoko, half of Mali's blind music duo Amadou & Miriam. He was 70 years old. The duo was nominated for three Grammys, including Best Contemporary World Music Album for their 2004 breakthrough album Dimanche à Bamako. Here's a track from that album: Djanfa (The Betrayal)

Sierra Dawn Hull is an American bluegrass singer-songwriter, mandolinist, and guitarist. Hull was signed to Rounder Records at the age of 13 and released her debut vocal album, Secrets, in 2008 at the age of 16. The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart.
