You can meet this need, and best of all, you don't need any special skills...just the ability to read and write English and a passion to help others do the same.

Attending a volunteer information Session is the first step in learning more about becoming a literacy coach.

Lowell Arts is proud to announce they've added additional concerts to their new concert series for 2025. 

The series is organized by Lowell Arts in partnership with Sound Check, a music venue in downtown Lowell, Michigan. 

There will be eight new shows now through May 17th.

GRTV Makers Camp 2025 (click for more info)

GRTV's Media Makers summer camp registration is now open! 

Grand Rapids high schoolers can get hands-on experience creating a live studio TV show, short film, or podcast - and get paid to do it! 

Campers will spend a week learning creative techniques and technical skills, workshopping with local professors, filmmakers, reporters, and radio personalities, all while getting experience with professional production equipment. 

By the end of camp, they'll have a finished project for their portfolio and a free membership to the Community Media Center. 

Applications are open now - spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Franciscan Life Process Center - Music Lessons (click for more info)
The Franciscan Life Process Center is now offering music lessons in piano, guitar, drums, and brass instruments, as well as beginning voice. 

Enrollment is open for weekly half-hour lessons, which are held at the Center's campuses in Lowell and Grand Rapids. 

There are immediate openings for children 8 years old through high school and adults of all skill levels, and lesson times are flexible.

You're invited to join the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan in celebrating 45 years of fair housing in West Michigan at their 37th Annual Fair Housing Workshop Series. 

This event will be held virtually Thursday, April 24, from 1:00 - 4:30 pm and includes three workshops focused on fair housing issues and topics.

Advanced registration is required, and discounted tickets and full scholarships are available for older adults, students, nonprofits, and those experiencing financial hardship.

Land Conservancy of West Michigan - Valley of the Wind Film (click for more info)

You're invited to join the Land Conservancy of West Michigan and Wealthy Theatre for an Earth Day screening of Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, on Tuesday, April 22nd.

The film is set far in the future after an apocalyptic conflict has devastated much of the world's ecosystem, and one of the few surviving humans, young Nausicaä works to bring peace back to the ravaged planet. 

In recognition of Earth Day, Wealthy Theatre is generously donating 10% of all ticket sales to support the Land Conservancy of West Michigan's mission to conserve ecologically critical land.
