The Grand Rapids Public Library is proud to announce a series of Community Game Nights.

Community Game Nights will be held on September 18, October 16, November 27, and December 18, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the library's Ottawa Hills Branch at 1150 Giddings Ave SE.

The library will provide a variety of games for community members, families, and friends to play. Attendees are also welcome to bring their board games.

Write Michigan welcomes writers of all ages to enter the competition, with separate categories for youth, teens, and adults. 

Winning entries will be published, and the top writers will receive cash prizes.

If you are a kiteboarder, surfer, or paddler, you can participate in Kiteboard For Cancer Michigan, happening October 11-18. 

KB4C is a week-long water-sports endurance race to raise funds for young adults diagnosed with cancer. 

Participants raise pledges for every mile ridden or paddled, with funds going to send young adult to a cancer support program run by the nonprofit Project Koru.

The Creston Neighborhood Association is proud to announce the return of Art Bash For Creston, a night of art, food, & community, on Wednesday September 25, from 6 to 9 PM  at the Golden Age venue space, located above Creston Brewery.

Art Bash provides materials for twelve Creston-based artists to create art live and in person. 

These newly created artworks are then auctioned to benefit the Creston Neighborhood Association. Some of the proceeds from the final auctioned piece are given back to support the artist.

Thirteen artists showcase Michigan's impact on art and design in Coming Home, a new on-campus exhibition at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University for ArtPrize 2024.

Coming Home is on view to the public from now through Nov. 2 at KCAD's 17 Fountain Street building in downtown Grand Rapids. 

Kendall College is an official venue for ArtPrize 2024 through September 28.

Presenting works across various mediums, Coming Home highlights Michigan's diverse landscapes, industrial innovation, and resilient spirit as sources of creative inspiration.

As many visitors flock to Grand Rapids during ArtPrize, now through September 28th, the City's Mobile GR Department reminds you that DASH shuttles are FREE as always and run every day.  

DASH parking lots offer $3 parking and the free DASH shuttle will get you to many of the ArtPrize venues. 

ArtPrize visitors can also use e-scooters or e-bike rentals and the City's MOTU app offers an easy way to use metered parking as well.
