The Kent County Animal Shelter is overflowing with adorable kittens and cats needing loving foster homes!
By fostering a kitten or cat you can help alleviate overcrowding at the shelter, help socialize and prepare our cats for adoption, and can enjoy the companionship of a pet without a long-term commitment.
Each spring, the Kent County Animal Shelter receives dozens of litters of kittens and relies on dedicated volunteers to keep the kittens happy and healthy while they prepare for adoption.
Foster opportunities are also available for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens.
More information on becoming a foster home for kittens or cats is available at accesskent dot com and searching under "animal shelter."

On July 14th, Las Canchas will host a double-header watch party starting at 2pm featuring the Euro 2024 final at 3pm followed by the Copa America final.
There will be food trucks, pick-up games and other activities. The event is open to the public.
Before the watch party, the Las Canchas Farmers Market will take place from 9am to 2pm with over 15 local and regional vendors.

Kent District Library is holding its thirteenth annual Write Michigan Short Story Contest, which drew over 1,150 entries last year.
Write Michigan welcomes Michigan writers of all ages to enter the competition, with separate categories for youth, teens, and adults.
Winning entries will be published, and the top writers will receive cash prizes.
Stories can be submitted to writemichigan dot org by November 30.
