Today WYCE is taking the time to recognize Juneteenth.
Juneteenth is the annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States of America.
We are celebrating Juneteenth by highlighting some of the many black owned businesses, like We Are Lit bookstore, The Grand Rapids African American Museum, and Grand Rapids Area Black Businesses. As well as historian and authors Randal Jelks and Todd Robinson and all of the other leaders in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Frederik Meijer Gardens and 88.1 FM WYCE are proud to announce this year's expanded lineup for Tuesday Evening Music Club.
Tuesday Evening Music Club brings a diverse schedule of local and regional performances to the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater stage Tuesday evenings from May 30 through August 29.
These outdoor performances are free for Meijer Gardens members and for any general admission visitor to the Gardens on Tuesdays.
This week's performer at the Tuesday Evening Music Club will be The Sweet Adelines along with The Robin Connell Trio featuring Mary Rademacher (RAD-uh-maker).
