"Of Monkees and Men" is an homage to that made-for-TV answer to The Beatles: namely, The Monkees. The album does NOT feature actual Monkees songs, but songs about the band and its various members. Hence song titles such as "Davy Gets The Girl", "Song for Peter Tork", and the one we just heard: "Boyce and Hart", referring to Tommy Boyce and Roger Hart, a prolific sonwriting duo responsible for a number of Monkees hits.
