Born In Mississippi, Babe Travelled The Southern Circuit With Lazy Lester, Making Their Way To Louisiana. LSU Folklorist Dr. Harry Oster Discovered Babe Playing The Street Corners Of Baton Rouge, And Recorded A Catalog Of Thirty Songs Over Two Years. Little Is Known Of Smoky Babe's Life Other Than These Recordings. One Thing Is For Certain, One Can Hear Echoes Of The Guitar Styles Of John Lee Hooker, Bukka White, Big Joe Williams And Tommy McClennan Resonating Throughout His Country Blues - Robert Brown Passed On In 1973.
