Blues Spotlight: Born In 1918 Mississippi, L.C. McKinley Relocated To Chicago In 1941, Earning His Chops By The End Of The Decade With A Steady Gig At The Famed 708 Club. In 1952, McKinley And The Ernest Cotton Trio Backed Pianist Eddie Boyd On The Standard 'Five Long Years'. Recording Sessions For Parrot Records Were Never Released. A Recording Contract With Vee-Jay Produced Several Singles, And By 1964 McKinley Made Is His Last Recordings And Left The Music Industry. Luke Mckinley Passed On In 1970. In 2019, West Michigan's Killer Blues Headstone Project Placed a Headstone On L.C. McKinley's Unmarked Grave At Fern Oaks Cemetery In Griffith, IN
