Harry "Fats" Crafton

a note about this track

Harry Crafton Was One Of The Better And Ultimately, Unfairly Neglected Guitarists To Come Out Of The Postwar Era, Carving A Small But Special Niche For Himself In Philadelphia. No Slouch On The Axe, And Accompanied By A Fine Set Of Vocal Chops, Crafton Cut A String Of Records For A Number Of Independent Labels Between 1949 And 1954 With His Band The Craft Tones. Many Of These Sides Are Ably Supported By Local Philly Musicians Joe Sewell And Doc Bagby With Whom Crafton Cut Many Important Early Blues & Rhythm Sides. Nothing Is Known Of Crafton's Whereabouts In Music Or Anywhere Else Since The Mid-1960's, Although It Is Said That He Ran A Record Store In Philadelphia At Some Point.
