Admiral Amos "Bumble Bee Slim" Easton

Please Baby
Bumble Bee Slim Vol. 7 1936-1937 1994 via Document
a note about this track

The Blues Is A Cruel Mistress, And A Man Who Sold Millions Of Records Can Disappear Into The Footnotes Of Blues History. Bumble Bee Slim Came From The Piedmont Area To Make A Name For Himself In Chicago, As Country Blues Transformed Into An Urban Music. On His Journeys, Slim Was heavily Influenced By Leroy Carr And Scrapper Blackwell, Played With Big Bill Broonzy, Tampa Red And Memphis Minnie, And Picked Up Steady Session Work For Lester Melrose's Bluebird Record Label. Relocating To The West Coast In 1940's, Slim Couldn't Quite Capture The Magic As The Days In Chicago; A Few Recordings Went Unnoticed. Admiral Amos Easton Passed On In 1968.
