Worked With Sonny Boy Williamson And Sunnyland Slim In The 1930's Before Relocating To Chicago, And Recorded For Vocalian In 1938. Left Music Behind During The '40's For A Number Of Years Restarting His Career With Victoria Spivey's Label In 1964, Passing On A Short Later. West Michigan's Killer Blues Society Placed A Headstone On Barbee's Unmarked Grave In 2010.
