His First Attempts Signing A Record Contract In The 1930's Was Unsuccessful, Not having another Opportunity Til 1949 On King Records. At This Time Skinner's Songwriting Skills Came Into Play, Composing Two That Are Country And Bluegrass Standards. He Also Operated A Successful Mail-Order Record Business And Retail Store For Many Years In Cincinnati. Jimmie Passed On In 1979.
