Jimmy Reed

Good Lover
18 Greatest Hits 1986 via Motown
a note about this track

There's Simply No Sound In The Blues As Easily Digestible, Accessible Or Instantly Recognizable As Is The Music Of Jimmy Reed. Cutting His Guitar Chops In 1930's Mississippi, Reed Perfected His Unique Style As He Worked His Way To Chicago, Becoming a Major Player On That City's Electric Blues Scene. Although Medical Issues Developed In the Mid 1950's That Would Dog Him For The Next Twenty Years, Reed's Prolific Output Never Wavered. Posthumously Inducted In Both The Blues And Rock And Roll Halls Of Fame, Jimmy Reed's Impact Continues To Resonate To This Day.
