Jo Ann Kelly

Nothing And Rambling [1972]
Do It More 2009 via British Rags
a note about this track

British Blues Singer Jo Ann Kelly Was the Real Deal; She Could Play The Blues As Deep And Hard As Any Man - With Expressive Vocals And An Acoustic Slide To Match, She Conveyed Her Blues Like a Delta Original - Acknowledging Mississippi Fred McDowell As A Major Influence, Kelly Was Making A Name For Herself On the British Club Scene By Age Twenty, But Somehow Slipped Through The Cracks, Even Though She Worked Extensively In The States And Europe - Both Canned Heat And Johnny Winter Invited Her To Join Them On A Permanent Basis. She Declined - She And Brother Dave Founded "The Blues Band," In The Late 1970's, But She Was Essentially A Solo Artist Until Her Tragic Passing In 1990 At The Age Of 46.
